Into second early in the season of all time in the Tyrol
Tyrol recorded the second most early in the season of all time. Only the top result by 0.5% from the year 2008 was missed. This, and the excellent location booking over Christmas and New Year, lets hope the Tyrol tourism to a successful winter season 2009/10.
Pleasing the November figures includes overnight stays in Tyrol.
With 789,243 overnight stays had nearly the record results achieved in the previous year. Only 0.5% missing on last year’s 793,500 overnight stays. Governor Guenther Platter and Tourism Speaker: “The great start to the 2009/2010 winter season is very important for the mood in the country. The Tyrolean tourism have done an excellent job and the course for a successful winter season are made. We are confident that we can score with the best quality and best service too this winter. “Although the main source markets of Germany and Switzerland fell slightly, however, can look forward Pitztal holiday makers on the excellent results from Belgium, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovenia and Ukraine. Poland also remains stable. This partial new source markets largely offset the declines in traditional markets such as Austria, where a decrease was recorded at 4.9% for overnight stays.
Declines are also complaining of the Netherlands. Will continue double-digit decline from Britain. The highest increases were recorded as early as the summer holiday trade (+7.1%). The best community outcomes - not surprising for November - has been achieved in the glacial regions. Josef Margreiter, managing director of the Tirol Tourist Board said: “By the early onset of winter in October, targeted marketing activities in the markets and an aggressive reporting on the current snow conditions in the Tyrolean ski areas were won over by November, despite the warm temperatures, many guests for skiing in the Tyrol.”
